Windows 10: Windows 10 Video Playback - Sound But No Video On Rented Movies

Dear Microsoft/Community,


I got the follow problem when i try to play a rented/purchased movie on the Movie & TV app. The movie is playing but I only got sound and no video. Same problem when i downloaded the movie to the disk and playing it with Movie & TV, even with VLC Media Player where even video and sound isn't working.


I don't have the problem when i play other video files (.mkv, .mp4 and .avi) that are stored on my computer. Also playing a trailer of a movie within the Movie & TV app works fine.


Restarted the pc multiple times, Terminate and Reset the Movie & TV app within the app sittings, but that didn't fixed my issue.


All my devices are updated to the latest drivers and troubelshooting doesn't find a problem.


Are there any other ways to fix this?

How to rent movie in Xbox Video and play on phone?

I rented a movie (download, not stream) using the Windows 8 Xbox Video app. After downloading, I then tried to sync to my Windows 8 phone, but am told that there are rights restrictions and that I cannot do that.



The renting process does NOT give any options for what device playback should happen on. The playback options during rental only give options for HD or SD, and whether I want to stream the movie or download the movie.



How do I rent a video in Xbox Video app in such a way that it will allow me to sync it to my phone and play it back?

purchased a new hp with pre-loaded windows 10. Downloaded and synced all my pictures and videos I had stored on drop box. tried to playback a video and get only sound, no picture. never a problem with windows 7. I'm feeling regret my old computer crapped
out on me. They wont play with media player or movie player. any suggestions.
