  1. Fix windows' reserved partition on a linux multi-boot machine

    Hi,

    so recently to fix an update error in Windows, I have decided to delete the Windows' reserved partition (DellUtility) to grow it from about 40MB to 3.5GB, then recovered the content with the partition image I took a few days ago. I did run the 'update-grub' command (my boot manager is grub), check the boot flag but dispite the partition was found as 'Windows 10', now when I attempt to boot in to it, the screen just stops at the blinking cursor until I shut the PC down. Does 3GB too much for the reserved partition? Do I need to reinstall that partition (found guides online but this PC was the only one I can easily accessible that run windows and I don't know if I had kept my Windows 10 USB installer so I really hope that its not the only option).

    I think I know how cringy this will be to ask but What have I done wrong?

    Thank you in advance.

    (FYI, the only partition that were modified were the said partition and my Linux's)

    {Also I don't know if I have chosen the right Windows topic to post this.}

    :)

    How to go about building a tri-boot system?

    i dual boot all the time, and going in to tri boot is easy.

    step 1) partition the drive in to 3 partitions ( leaving 1 empty for the linux installer. )
    step 2) install windows on the first 2 partitions.
    step 3) install linux, and let it auto partition the remaining space. ( i recommend at least 30gb of space for linux, because it will make things a lot easier. )

    step 4) enjoy.
