Seemingly endless problems with resetting Windows 10 on laptop and everything else

    Hey now

I recently picked up a PC that I have had lying around for a while and not used - It is an Asus gaming laptop with Intel I7 that originally came with Windows 8 installed on it - now it has Windows 10 on it.

After using it for not very long, i have encountered several pretty annoying problems with it - it seems a bit slow, there is some weird connectivity issues with a Bluetooth speaker, Windows Update doesen't seem to run all that well, sometimes it freezes and shuts down unexpectedly.

Therefore I want to reset the system - but when I try to do that the obvious way under settings, absolutely nothing happens - it doesen't register that I press the button, even though I am logged in as administrator. When I try to do it by booting in safe mode and then resetting, it loads for a little while but then tells me that "There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.". I have tried to run the system repair tool in safe mode as well, which tells me that it can't repair the system and gives me the error: C:\windows\system32\logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt.

I have tried all the different advice which concerns going into the command prompt and doing systemscans and forced resetting, but a lot of the commands i type in gets an "access denied" message.

I have tried using the Media Creation Tool to reinstall Windows directly on the computer, which did not work. Then I tried to create a USB flash-drive on my other computer (newest Win 10) via Media Creation Tool, but I got an error message at the end of the loading screen as well.

Also, when doing normal troubleshooting, it tells me there is some kind of problem that cannot be fixed.

So all in all, a lotta problems and on top of that I am now kind of afraid that I might have made some wrong changes while using the command prompt - I am not very skilled with this at all. I feel like I have tried every solution that people on here and on other sites recommends, and nothing is working. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help with this.

    Thanks a lot

    :)

    Windows 10 endless loop reboot

    Hi,

    • Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
    • Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
    • What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided in the following article and check if it helps.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
