Windows 10: Window 1903 Install disconnected my login from my desktop

Just finished the Window 10 1903 install and when the computer restarted all there was on my desktop was 16 icons. They appear to be programs that anyone who was able to log in to my computer would receive. Sort of common programs to all.

What is missing is approximately 60 icons or programs that use to be there before the update. When I go into C:\Users\<me> and look at the desktop, all my previous programs are there and for the most part, I can run them from C:\users\<me>\desktop.


My question is how can I get windows to "reattach" my login to my previous c:\users\<me> account?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows 10 1809 and 1903 install but login and desktop issues

With both the 1809 (any version of them) and 1903 feature updates after installing I am unable either unable to login to my PC, I can get to the login prompt and enter my credentials but it rarely makes it past the next screen. If it does make it past
that screen it is a black screen. All I can do from there is a CTRL-ALT-DEL and restart or shutdown. None of the other options result in anything.

The only way I can get into the system is to reboot into recovery mode and uninstall the feature update. Booting into safe mode doesn't even work.

I've tried installing both from Windows Update and manually by downloading the updater tool with no difference in the result. I'd rather not do a clean install of Windows if I can avoid it. The majority of the software I have is not installed via the the
Microsoft App store and will be a major pain to reinstall it all.

The system is a home built desktop PC with an AMD processor. So no manufacture support. I don't recall the model number of the processor or motherboard but it is a 3.2Ghz AMD processor on an ASUS motherboard.

Any suggestions on what I can try to get past this login/desktop issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.
