Windows 10: Is there any to limit MS automatic updates to Windows 10 only?

I have Microsoft Office Picture Manager only installed from Windows 2003 on my Windows 10 Dell XPS8900. No other Windows 2003 programs/apps are loaded yet Windows' automatic update tries, unsucessfully, repeatedly to upgrade Windows 2003. This has created system lockup whenever I try to boot up when the update is running. When the machine is "locked" or "sleeping" there is no indication that an update is running!


I have used MS Office Picture Manager constantly and have for years and find it fills all my picture management needs. Windows 10 Photo manager lacks many features of MS Office Picture Manager, or at least I have found the lacking.


MS Office Picture Manager co-exists with Windows 10 with no problems except the repeated attempt to upgrade.


Is there an easy solution other than stopping al automatic Windows 10 upgrades?

i have some questions about the windows automatic updates in windows xp pro w sp/2. ive got about forty updates they recommend , mostly for security but i only installed two today. after installing them i found them in my add/remove programs in the control panel, if i add all these updates that is a lot of space on my hd almost 1 gig. i thought that updates just updated files and not created new programs. should i innore all these update suggestions from microsoft?

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
