    Hello,

My windows 7 laptop has the option for line-in when you plug in something to the Jack input:

How do I get the Line In option?

    Thanks

    No line-in microphone input

    Hi there.
Yesterday a new microphone arrived, and I was excited to finally have a proper one. I plugged it in to my laptop and went to test things out, however I've noticed that my laptop doesn't seem to receive any input from it at all, despite it recognising that it's plugged in.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers, and that wasn't any help.
The microphone came with a Y-adapter for use with PCs that have both headphone and mic jacks, which I've been using.
Plugging the cable into the headphone jack without the adapter doesn't seem to do anything regarding the microphone, or at least, the computer doesn't recognise any sort of microphone when plugged in through that.
Doing the same with the microphone jack doesn't result in any input either.
I've tested the microphone with an iPod, without the adapter, and it works just fine, which makes me think that this could be an issue with my laptop.

The microphone I'm using is a V-MODA BoomPro Microphone, and the audio drivers I'm using are the standard Microsoft HD Audio Drivers.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, as I would love to put this new microphone to use. If you need more details, please let me know.
    Many thanks.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

No Line Input Option for Recording Devices

    Hi,

i went to record something yestersay through the line input jack on my Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7195 Laptop only to end up realizing the only recording device available is now the microphone. I've tried uninstalling the latest device driver for the Conexant Smart
Audio HD (v.8.66.43.53) more than once, including just deleting it, rebooting, and letting the computer install something, and I've run the troubleshooter. Nothing I've tried has restored the Line Input from the jack on the side of my laptop as a recording
option. It DID use to exist!

I thought maybe this happened as a result of my completely reinstalling Windows 10, (Home, v.10.0.16299 Build 16299) and everything on the main drive, but when I checked another laptop of mine, a Fujitsu LifeBook AH530, the Line Input option was gone there,
too. The only option on the Fujitsu was also the microphone, just like on the Toshiba.

Both laptops are 64-bit and running Windows 10, but i have not made any 'system' changes to the Fujitsu. This being the case, I'm left thinking that this is a Windows 10 version/build issue. Whatever the case may be, PLEASE HELP restore the Line Input
recording option AND ALSO the mixed recording option, or whatever it is that would allow me to hear through the headphone jack what is being played/recorded or input through the line input jack.

    Thanks so much in advance.
