Windows 10: Asus Mixed Reality Headset won't wake up after first use after restart

My Mixed Reality headset works perfectly fine the first time I launch the Mixed Reality software after I restart my computer, but every time I try after that, I either get a 15-5 bug, telling me to restart my computer, or the text "Your headset is asleep" with the button to wake it up underneath, which does not do anything. I have even tried a complete reinstall of the Mixed Reality software, but I still have the issue.


Windows is up-to-date , as are my graphics drivers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Mixed Reality restarts when putting on headset

Every time I "go into" mixed reality, the scene inside the headset turns black and the Mixed Reality Portal restarts itself. I have done EVERYTHING in the troubleshooting forums.

Reinstalling Windows 10, installing the latest updates for Windows and drivers should resolve most issues experienced on Windows.

Mixed Reality adjustments

Hi Chris,

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

Open the Mixed reality portal and tap on the ellipses (three dots) at the left hand bottom corner.

Press Settings and then click on headset display under Mixed Reality.

Click on change under Experience options.

Under the drop down options choose 60Hz and save it.

Restart the headset.
