Windows 10: Windows Defender - MpSigStub updating executable with Windows Defender & Automatic Updates...

Trying to find a cause for this - We have workstations running McAfee VSE and McAfee Agent. Windows Defender is disabled, and Windows Updates are turned off to not update automatically. There is a new CVE that is showing up on the vulnerability scans for one of our workstations on our test bench (CVE-2019-1161) which is strange because they are all using the same configuration. The finding is for a vulnerability related to a version of MpSigStub.exe The other 3 workstations are showing the MpSigStub.exe file as having updated at different times late last month, so they are not getting the same finding in the vulnerability scan.


My question is how did the executable update when Windows Automatic Updates and Windows Defender are turned off? Looking through the event logs it looks like to me that somehow the McAfee Service is being turned off, the Windows Defender Service turned on, it reaching out for this update and then turning itself back off, and McAfee back on. I've found the same entries in the event logs of the 3 workstations that have somehow updated this executable.

SEtting up automatic updates for windows defender on windows 8

I have found this on the internet en have set up a task for automatic definitions update for Windows Defender but a window pops up when this starts to run.
Is there a way to set this without any window popping up so that it just runs in the background?

Now I'm using
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate -MMPC

Why won't Windows Defender not auto update anymore

I have have windows updates set to notify updates , I will install myself, because I want to make a system restore point before installing updates.

Because of this windows defender does not update automatically and I had to create a task for updating in the task scheduler, which I did but it does not work anymore since I re-installed windows.
What am I doing wrong?
