  1. I updated my pc and now it's completly unstable

    Hello,

So i updated my pc on tuesday late at night. When i turned it on Wednesday all my files on desktop were gone and everything basicly returned as it was when you got this computer(wallpaper was windows logo, there was microsoft edge, chrome and recycle bin). Well somehow in "Users" file i managed to get all of my stuff back. But then when i turned on my pc on thursday it was reset and all my desktop files were gone. And i couldn't find my files in "Users" because i just draged them onto my desktop and didn't copied them.

And now whenever i'm restarting my pc all changes disappear and only chrome, edge and bin are on pc.

    Please help me.

    Reagards,

    :)

  2. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond I updated my pc and now it's completly unstable :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

    Help with unstable system

    latest update,
I have changed psu for xfx 750W and keeping to stock values and use on board graphics, the system seems stable , has been for several days. If I try to unleash, then Its prone to occasional crashing.
So next step was to put HD6950 in with CPU in stock setting.
System very unstable again. crashes after about 5 mins.
I have lots of fans , CPU temp ~35deg, HDD ~30deg,
    HD6950 ~ 49deg
When system crashes, I dont get bSOD but a grey screen with thin black vertical lines. I then have to re-boot . I get back, Windows reports error with usual 124 error.
Could the CPU be an issue ?
    Dont have another to test.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thank you
