Windows 10: PNGs have a black background in file explorer

My PNG and JPG files have a black background in file explorer. How can I change that? Many times when I download a new PNG or JPG file it has a white or transparent background at first and then eventually it turns black. It's really annoying because many of the files are black, so with the black background I can't see them at all. I've performed a disk cleanup already and tried transferring the files to a new folder. Neither worked.

Finding the .PNG files with different pixels in file explorer

hello,

when you make a .png file filled with white pixels and transparent pixels, save it in a folder and look at the folder in the File Explorer, you get your .png file with black pixels instead of transparent pixels, and that's good.

Now if you replace all white pixels with black pixels, file explorer will set the background (so, transparency pixels) to white for a better view.

But since I added both white .png files and black .png files, the background is always set to black and it became impossible to see black pictures.. event after removing all white files, the background won't set to white.

I since had some problems with my hard drive and had to buy one and reinstall W10 (the .png files are on OneDrive) but File explorer still shows .png files with a black background after reinstallation so maybe the prob is persistant? please help me setting
the background to white of anything else that can let me see the pictures without having to open them.

png images are black with black background

I cannot see png images in Windows10 Photo App because they turned black when the text is also black.

This issue occurs when I want to view transparency images such as
png,gif. The same problem with the png file icon on file explorer and .eps files.
In case I try to open this png file and double click on it, then select Open with photos, I can’t see anything. Everything is black.

This question has been asked before, but like others have commented, the answers provided are no longer viable.

I have a lot of black shapes, saves as .png files and I need to see the thumbnail to check which file I want to use in a project. However, a few months ago the transparent backgrounds have decided to go black (only in the thumbnail, the actual file is unchanged)
- which means my black arrow/heart/star/whatever-shape is now on a black background so I can't see it properly. This is so frustrating.

My display drivers are up to date

Windows 10 is up to date

I've used the disc clean up to clear the thumbnail cache

I really don't want to have to use an alternative to the file explorer as this wasn't an issue until recently, so surely there is a solution.
