One of my keys started to be unresponsive.

I have a Dell laptop (Windows 10) that I recently bought like 4 months ago, due to the fact my other laptop just had the same issue (having unresponsive keys) yep, I'm this lucky that I got same issue on this one now. So, my letter d is acting unresponsive, sometimes I type it many times and it works fine and sometimes no matter how hard I press it, it won't react. It was acting really fine like 10 mins ago but then I opened a game and since I use it a lot while I play games ( W, A, S, D, ) it somehow started to act weird and boom, couldn't use it anymore, like sometimes it works and then it stops working. It comes and goes away. This issue reminds me of the other laptop I had, it started with one key and little by little other keys were getting affected by it, such as the F1, F5, the arrow down, etc. (but well that's the other laptop), if anybody knows how to fix this issue, please help me.

First time this happened I got a bit scared and thought it might have same issue like my other laptop, so then I went to Reset this PC > Advance Setup > Image Recovery and restarted everything. I stopped playing for a good time, then letter d was acting fine again, it came back to normal. All was working fine and then I decided to open the game and the issue started again, everything was fine and then back to it again.

    Please, help me

    :)

  2. Unresponsive Windows Start button

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having a tough time working on the computer.

I will certainly help you to resolve the issue.

    • Have you installed any third party security software on your computer?
This issue could have occurred due to conflict between third party applications.

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

Step 1: If you have installed any third party security software, I suggest you to temporarily disable them.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software,
you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 2: If any of these functions like Start Menu, Settings, Search, Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Action Center and other Windows components are not responding, follow these below steps and check if
    it helps:

    • Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard, select
      Command prompt (admin).

    • Enter the below commands one by one and hit
      Enter
      key.

      PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

    • It will open the PowerShell window.

    • Now enter the below command and hit Enter key.

      Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Hope it helps.

Let us know the status, we are glad to assist you further.

One of my keys started to be unresponsive.

    Start Button Unresponsive

My start button and Windows key frequently become unresponsive. The only thing I can do is sign out and sign back in or restart manually. This happens at least once a day, and I'm getting really tired of it. It seems to have started after the last version of Windows 10 was installed. How can I fix this?
