Windows 10: Acer Spin 1 experienced a hard crash after lattiest Window 10 update. Now stuck in endless...

My Acer Spin 1 is 13 months old. Very pleased with it and always allowed Windows 10 automatic updates. After finishing its recent update file installs, all seamed fine and I allowed it to reboot.


A Windows Safe Mode like window came up asking two choices:


First choice, Continue with Windows 10. Choosing this first did not go to Window. Instead a reboot back to the two choices. I tried this three times and decided the update was compromised so I moved on to the 2nd choice.



The 2nd choice was undo Windows Update. From here on, the computer power up shows Acer banner and cartwheel spinning, blacks out, a flash of retangle, picture frame like white box, only to disappear. Then two lines of wording stating Windows 10 undo failed then Unable to undo update. Next it blacks out and attempts another start up.


Acer techs. had me try F7 strikes and F10 strikes and hold down. There last suggestion was to user the Acer Recovery thumb drive. I received it today. Followed instructions with no success. I pulled off the bottom cover, unplugged battery from board with no change as well.

• Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
• Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
• What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?

I just purchased an Acer Spin 1 from the Microsoft Store and noticed problems others have had with this model during Windows updating procedure. If true, what should I do, halt any update or send it back to Microsoft?
