Windows 10: Why are the pictures transferred from myGalaxy 10+ phone 11.8 GB each?

About a month and a half ago, the glass over the back cameras on my S10+ shattered, so through the warranty I pay for I was able to send that phone back and be sent a new S10+. So I transferred the photos and videos from the phone I was to send back to my laptop. I don't remember exactly how I did so, but I might have just dragged the camera folder from the phone onto my desktop. Anyway, for some reason my laptop (A Dell G7) is saying that the folder is 15 TB, and that each picture and video is 11.8 GB. This is impossible considering my laptop doesn't even have 1 TB of space, and no way could a picture taken from a phone be almost 12 GB. I can't open the files and no thumbnails are shown. I have searched for answers online and found no results or even mentions of this kind of issue. I just want to have the files as normal jpgs that I can actually view. The phone the files are from was sent back over a month ago and they weren't backed up to any sort of drive, so if I can't fix this issue they're basically gone forever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached are screenshots of what I'm looking at.

Re transferring pictures to Window 10

I just transferred pictures to Windows 10 from my Samsung Galaxy Android phone. The pictures were transferred but they are in a separate list and I cannot transfer any of them as as attachment or to my Facebook account. Any suggestions.

Automatically transfer videos from windows phone 8 to PC

When hooking up my Windows Phone 8 to my Windows 8 PC then Windows Phone App launches and automatically copies the camera roll pictures to my PC's default save location. However the video files are not automatically transferring.

• Is there a way to tell the Windows Phone App to also automatically transfer the video files to the PC?

 

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
