Windows 10: Virus protection off after upgrade to Windows 10 version 1909

Upgraded two Windows 10 computers from 1903 to 1909 using Optional choice that showed up on Windows Update. Both computers upon first boot showed warning icon for Windows Security. After opening WIndows Security, both computers showed that Virus & Threat protection were off.


I have fixed this by clicking on Virus & Threat Protection, and selecting the option to turn on. No other issues to report, both computers show they are running version 1909, and I am having no issues with using the computers.


I think that Microsoft should patch the upgrade to version 1909 and not leave upgraded computers in an unprotected state after restart.

Windows 10 update 1909

Hey,

I've just clean installed windows 10. It is build 1803.

Today awesome 1909 have launched. I want to update to 1909 but in settings it is showing me option to upgrade to 1809. My friend told me I have to upgrade to 1809, then 1903 and then finally 1909.

I want to directly upgrade to 1909 without going through intermediate steps. How can I do this?

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to uninstall the third-party anti-virus software.

Step 2: I suggest you to run Windows Defender on your device and check if it helps.

Windows Defender is malware protection that is included with and built into Windows 10. This software helps identify and remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. So, you do not need to install any third party antivirus applications.
