Windows 10: xbox game bar voice chat blocked

Voice chat will only connect about 5% of the time, and even then it will randomly disconnect after a certain amount of time and refuse to connect again. It gives a message about my network settings blocking voice chat, which is complete BS because I never had a single problem with the old xbox app (now called console companion), before they migrated voice chat over to the game bar. I also have zero problems with my actual xbox's voice chat, using the same network. I've tried basically every fix from the first 4 pages of google and nothing has worked. At this point I know it's a long shot but I'm hoping maybe someone out there has had the same issue and was able to fix it somehow...

NAT type is OPEN btw.

What I've tried: Everything from https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/social/server-connectivity-xbox-app-displays-blocked

Restarting IPHelper and Xbox Live Networking services.

Changing the teredo server.

Enabling IPv6.

Disabling Intel Management Engine Interface.

Making sure my MTU was at least 1364.

Setting my PC clock with Intel's clock service

And as a last resort, putting my PC on my router's DMZ, which still did nothing.

Game Chat Transcription feature for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs

Today, Microsoft is releasing a new pilot feature available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs called Game Chat Transcription. This feature allows speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities, offering a new way to communicate that creates a more accessible and inclusive gaming experience for everyone.

Game Chat Transcription works in two ways:

Speech-to-text provides the ability to convert all player’s voice communications in the game chat into text, so the player using this feature can read the text on their screen in real-time.

Text-to-speech provides the ability for players using this feature to have their typed text spoken aloud to other players in the game.

Game Chat Transcription will initially be available in Halo Wars 2, with the goal of adding support for more games in the future. We think you will enjoy using this cool new feature, so be sure to try it out!

How to activate this feature:

Go to Settings > All settings > Ease of Access > Game Chat Transcription.

To transcribe other players’ voices into text, select Speech-to-text.

To have your chat text read aloud to other players, select Text-to-speech.

To choose the voice that other players will hear when your chat text is read aloud, select one of the available voices in the Text-to-speech voice menu.
