Windows 10: Temp files 160gb, cleanup only shows about 1gb

Have had Win10 installed for about 2 weeks on a new PC. The temp files are 160gb already and filling the main C: disk to the limit. When I use storage cleanup it only identifies about 1gb of data to cleanup. Where can I look to find the hidden files?

These temp files will not delete

I suggest you to follow these methods below and check, if it works:

Method 1:

• Press Windows key + R key together, to open RUN command Window.
• Type "temp" in the RUN Command Window, to open temp folder and then delete the files and folders inside the temp folder.

If the issue persists, follow method 2.

Method 2:

• Press Windows key + R key together, to open RUN command Window.
• Type "%temp%" in the RUN Command Window, to open temp folder and then delete the files and folders inside the temp folder.
  

If the issue persists, follow method 3.

Method 3:

I suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode, then perform disk cleanup on Windows 10 and check, if it works.

Windows 10 jump lists showing temp files

Hi Vanessa,

Thanks for the reply. I did what you have suggested. But the thing is jump
list items are shortcuts to the files and/or folders not the files and/or folders themselves. Now the %temp%, temp and prefetch folders are empty but the links to jump-list still remains. So now when I click on them, it shows me this.



Can you suggest something else?

Failed to delete the TEMP files via Disk Cleanup on Windows 10

As showing in the screenshot, no matter how many times I do the disk cleanup or reboots, there is always about 80MB listed for the TEMP files. I manually cleaned temp folders under user accounts but that did not help.

Any idea where those TEMP files might be located?
