    Hi,

I share my problem and the workaround but I would to like have some answer and help.

    My build:

Motherboard: MSI Mortar MAX bios v25

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600

    RAM: 16GB (2x 8192MB) ADATA XPG Spectrix D80 32000

VGA: ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 ROG Strix Gaming OC 6GB

    PSU: Corsair Rmx 550

    Cooler: EK Fluid Gaming A240

    Case: Phanteks enthoo evolv matx

    SO: Windows 10 v 1909

    Nvidia driver: 441.41

    AMD driver: 1.11.22.454

    My problem

Several crash in different games (Call of Duty WWII, Destiny 2, Wolrd of Warships, Rocket League). After a variable time (30 second or 40 minutes) the game crash, it stops to work and the PC come back to the desktop.

    - For Destiny 2 the error was ‘’broccoli error’’→ driver video card problem.

    - For Call of Duty WWII the error was: ‘’DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED → hardware problem.

    - Rocket League and Wolrd of Warships just crash without error → The Windows registry showed: ‘’Live kernel event 141’’

Actions taken to resolve the issues

To summarize and I write not necessarily in order: reinstalled Windows, updated Windows, reinstalled the Nvidia video card driver (only driver) ,reinstalled the AMD chipset driver, uninstalled not necessary drivers and softwares. I tried different Nvidia driver. I tried 4 different vga (all Nvidia gpu). I tried without AMD chispet driver.

I have done some stress test to check my hardware:

    - HCI Memtest, after 10 hours no error found.

    - AIDA 64, after 10 hours no error found.

    - Prime 95, after 10 hours no error found.

    - Futurmark, after 4 hours no error found.

So after spending several days, the problem has not been solved. Don't forget that I tried 4 different video cards to exclude a hardware problem and the stress test for the others component has been negative.

    Workaround

Create a new registry key in Windows (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers)→ TdrLevel = 3 (other values didn't work for me).

I am not an expert, the subject here is the ‘’Timeout Detection and Recovery, this is a feature of the Windows operating system which detects response problems from a graphics card, and recovers to a functional desktop by resetting the card.”

    Questions

I would to like to know, Is the TDR level related a defective hardware? If yes, in my problem what is the ‘’main defendant’’?

This registry key, have some negative impact on the vga performance? For example a low FPS.

If it is a driver problem, why still in the end 2019 there are problem like this? Please, Microsoft/AMD/Nvidia/MSI/Asus, can you do something?

Thanks for the assistance and help.

    :)

  2. display driver TDR issue - game(s) do(es)nt recover since windows 10

hi, thank you, but judging from your suggestions, you dont seem to have read what i have already tried...

"chipset drivers are up-to-date as well (intel chipset software installation utility 10.1.1.14)." - 10.1.1.14 is from
    2/4/2016, ie. up-to-date.

    and from my initial post...

"changing the TDR-related registry values did not help at all." - this implies changing the TDR delay value, as well as some other (TDR level etc.)

so i have tried all these already.

and i am talking about the game not recovering after the display driver has successfully recovered, not the driver itself, since the driver recovers perfectly each time it suffers a TDR error.

    Game Crashing on Level Reload

    Hi Forum Folke,

In a fit of nostalgia, I recently downloaded "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" from GOG. At first it crashed upon loading, but there's a patch on their site that addresses this problem, so I downloaded/installed it, and now it loads OK. It plays OK too...
problem is that any time there's a level-ending event (player death, player detection, etc), the screen fades to black (normal behavior for this game), and instead of going to the reload level screen, it stays black for about 30 seconds, then a little pop-up
window appears that states: "WolfSP.exe has stopped working," and it collects information to send to Microsoft, then dumps me out to the desktop.

Every once in a while, it will reload the level properly, sometimes even several times in a row, but then it's back to crashing constantly again.

I just downloaded/installed the absolutely most recent driver suite for the video card, (Dell Inspiron 5755 laptop), and it went in with no trouble. Made no difference whatever, even with all settings for this game turned down as far as possible, no fancy
processing bells and whistles left on. As "vanilla" as can be, and it still crashes on reload.

I have Windows Gaming settings all turned off (because it was crashing when they were on, and one of the suggestions on GOG for general instability problems with Win10 was to turn them off), and that doesn't make any difference, either.

I have the game executable (WolfSP.exe) set, in "Properties," to run in compatibility mode, run as administrator, reduced color mode (8-bit), disable fullscreen, and 640x480. Again, as "vanilla" as I can get it. I have tried using every available compatibility
mode, and each of them results in the same behavior: crash upon level reload.

I would attach my DxDiag and MSInfo files, as well as a few screenshots, but I can see no way to do so here.

Anybody else play this game with similar issues, or other game/s with the same problem?

    Thanks!

Several crash in different games, solved with TDR Level value but...

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
