    iastorac.sys and hal.dll issues

    Hello,

Firstly I want to say that I updated two computer with the Windows update yesterday and it crashed BOTH computers.. One computer is an HP AIO Desktop and the other is a Levovo AIO Desktop. I have been online with Microsoft for two days trying to resolve this issue. I have noticed that I am not alone in this issue, and Microsoft is refusing to acknowledge that something went wrong with their most recent Windows update. I could see maybe issue with my 5 year old computer, but a 2 month brand new computer.. and then it happening on BOTH system the same day I do an update in windows update, it's not coincidental. Although I have been getting tech support by phone for my older HP computer, I have yet to have the time to get to my new Lenovo Computer.

    Troubleshooting:

I have made sure that the most recent BIOS has been updated by the manufacturers website.

    Whocrashed gives me this information:

The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

The crash took place in a storage driver or controller driver. Since there is no other responsible driver detected, this could be pointing to a malfunctioning drive or corrupted disk. It's suggested that you run CHKDSK.

I keep reading thread after thread that it's an internal issue, but too many people have this issue after Microsoft Updates. Thank God I just bought this computer 2 months ago and will have some warranty on it, but not on my older computer unfortunately.

What is the problem and any suggestions on how to fix this? Sorry for so long, but you need to know all the information posted I believe. Thank you

    David
