    Win 10 on older PC

Our old desktop PC is a Gateway SX2855, with Win7 home premium.

I've heard that an "upgrade" can't work, but am considering cleaning the drive files are backed up and doing a straight install of Win 10 from DVD. Can anyone tell me whether this PC model can handle that? Thanks.

    :)

is hardware OK (Win 7) for upgrade to windows 10

I think in one of the other PC with win 7 or win 8.1 I run media creators tools and in some step prompt/found graphics card not supported... for win 10. I didn't found alone reading specs of win 10, but the tool says me... after changed graphics card the tool said all OK and continued OK with upgrade... That I ask to reach this step in this current PC - win 7 - must be all OK for the upgrade? Or must continue to upgrade to show this?
    and got to point

    • UPGRADE this PC now
    • Create media(DVD, USB stick, ISO)
is hardware OK (Win 7) for an upgrade to windows 10 for this PC???

New Win 10 PCs cannot see other PCs on network

    Ken

It may be that both steps were necessary. I just did them one step at a time.

Indeed. Whilst it's good to have a solution I cannot say I feel I understand how the problem has been resolved. Everything I read suggests that SMB1 should only be required for older versions of Windows. In fact, without SMB1 checked, the only computer visible to the new Win 10 boxes was a Win 7 box!!!

    Win 10 on older PC

Older PC Game on a newer PC

Most/many pc games were not set for Win 10,but Win 10 can play older games, simply install game, locate the game

.exe or start-up icon,R.click on it/properties/compatability tab/set to run in older Win OS..
