    Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2013 Word and Excel


    just installed Windows 10 and now my Microsoft Office 2013 Word and Excel docs open I see data, and then immediately close. Please advise how I can fix this, as I noted from the microsoft website that Windows 10 should recognize Microsoft 2013.

    Windows 10 with Excel and Word 2013

    I have new desktop with dealer installed Windows 10 and Office 2013. After opening Word or Excel the next keystroke gets error message "Microsoft Word has stopped working --etc.," Powerpoint works. I have reinstalled Office 2013 with no fix.

    Not terribly helpful.

    I have a related issue in that Win 10 Pro (32 bit) freezes, usually when using WORD 2013, and has to be hard reset. Fellow travellers here report similar but less frequent issue when using EXCEL.

    The documents are often (possibly always) hosted on O365 SharePoint.

    This is not an issue on Win 7.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks. I had the same issue. I started with a fresh Windows 10 64 bit professional installation (pre-installed, indeed) on a brand new Lenovo X1 Yoga. Then, I installed Office 2016, and all apps started to crash every three minutes: Outlook, Word,
    Excel, PowerPoint.... I tried every solution suggested in the forums, but this is the only that worked for me. After I forced all apps to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode, I had no more crashes. Typical from Microsoft.

    As a side remark, I'd say that Windows 10 and Office 2016 may have a revamped look, but the engine behind is as clunky as it was from XP. None of the quirks I observed in XP were fixed. And some critical applications that worked in Windows 7 stopped working
    in Windows 10. Moral: if you have Windows 7, stay with it. Don't "upgrade" to Windows 10.
