  1. Portable Hard Drives and Memory Sticks NOT working

    Running Windows 10 assume the latest version on a HP computer....

    1. Computer will not read a 1TB toshiba portable hard drive, I have tried lots of things and computer will still not recognise it - please do not ask me to format because I cannot even get the drive to come up in file explorer.

    2. Now it seems that I cannot even read a memory stick - I've plugged into ALL the USB outlets on the computer and NOTHING... tried 3 different sticks and the same problem.

    Is this a problem with Windows 10.... seems like W10 is forever having issues that weren't issues prior and sick of wasting precious time on trying to fix my computer.

    Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    :)

  4. Portable Hard Drives and Memory Sticks NOT working

    About portable hard drives

    Hello, everyone. I'm a fresh enough here, not only in this forum but in tech questions, too. Want to purchase a hard drive for my laptop, because don't have enough memory.

    The main points which i think are important:

    - portability;

    - OS Compatibility: windows and mac os (i don't have mac, but to dream is not harmful...);

    - and the last is durability. I've heard and read a lot of reviews that hard drives can work good, but at one day they just stop working without any reason.

    After reading dozens of reviews, such as http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/portable-hdd-storage,2561.htm and http://www.bestadvisor.com/portable-hard-drives ,
    I decided to choose Seagate.

    Have some questions and hope you'll help me.

    1) Can I use this for XBox one?

    2) How many rpms is this drive? 7200, 5400?

    3) What about its warranty?

    4) Is this compatible with Windows xp?

    Or maybe you can recommend any other good model? anyway, any help and advice will be pretty appreciated, thanks in advance.
