Windows 10: Can I add columns to full screen all apps view?

Hi,

I recently changed to using the start menu full screen. I'm a gamer so most of my tiles are games and I customize all my tiles so they look like minature game boxes, anyways....

When I click "all apps" I get the alphabetized list that's three columns wide and far easier to see then the small single column list. While this view shows a lot more, it's still quite a waste of screen space on a 16:9 monitor.

Does anyone know of a tweak to make it 5 columns wide?

Column Width in List View in File Explorer

I went through all of the above steps, but sadly this doesn't work when viewing folders in *list* view. Any idea how to adjust the column widths there?

Up until a couple of months ago the column widths were always simply equal to the longest name in the column or the longest name in the folder. Now there is a couple of extra centimetres in there for no discernible reason.

• Open the folder with a details layout view that you want to change the width of columns to fit.
• Click on the View tab.

why won't column headings in File Explorer (Windows 10) stay the way I set them??

To resolve the issue with column heading on File Explorer, we suggest to follow the steps below:

• Click on the View Tab.
• Click Folder Options.
  
  
• Click Apply to all folders.
