    Changed an account's date of birth to < 18 years, but still showing as an adult in windows


    Hi, my son had created a ms account with a DOB making him older than 18, and I needed to set screen time in settings -> accounts, so I went into his account I manage all their passwords and set to correct DOB, making him now a child's age. Asked if I was sure as it would convert to a child, confirmed Yes. However,


    #/ he's still showing as 'Adult' in windows: https://account.microsoft.com/family/


    #/ but shows as a 'Child' in https://account.live.com/mykids.aspx


    #/ and shows as an 'Adult' in windows! start -> settings -> accounts -> family & other users


    the ms account system seems very confused :S


    does anyone know what's gone wrong?

    How to change child account to adult

    Hi Brookelynn,

    Your Xbox Live account age will be based from the Date of Birth that you entered when you created your Xbox Live profile online. Once the account reaches the age of 18 years old, it will automatically change to adult.

    If you accidentally set up an incorrect Date of Birth on the account, you have to wait for the account to become an adult or create a new account with the correct Date of Birth. However, if your account shows the correct Date of Birth and the system recognizes
    it as child account, you can promote the child account to adult by adding a payment instrument and a billing information to your Microsoft Account. You can go to this

    Adult account - child date of birth

    I am listed as an adult account for the family but the date of birth associated with it is my son’s. I cannot change it & keep getting asked to verify my details. I added my wife’s details to see if another adult account could change it, but alas not!

    Any ideas how to solve this as the message advises that we’ll lose access to Apps etc

    Change adult birth date to a childs birthdate.

    If you set up an account with an adult birth date, then try to change it to a child's birth date, it will tell you you can't. I Changed my childs birth date to adult to access some things and now I
    want to change it back to child. I'm beyond frustrated. Please help me!
