    Wonderful idea. Sort of had this idea myself while updating the list.

    List is now in order of fastest to slowest, as it was, but is now split into 4 different sections! SSD's, SSD's in RAID, HDD's, HDD's in RAID! *Smile hey I am wonder how to move files from ssd to hdd :)

    SSD VS HDD

    Storage wise an SSD is absolutely no different to a HDD - 500GB SSD = 500GB HDD.


    The difference between an SSD and an HDD is mainly Read/Write speed - How fast Windows, Applications and Files load

    An SSD is much faster than an HDD

    Also SSD's do not need defragmenting as they employ a totally different method of storing files and deleting files.

    Replacing hdd with ssd in a laptop.

    Hey,

    I have an acer laptop that has an hdd with windows 10. I would like to replace this hdd with an ssd, but with a clean install of windows 10. Is there a way to transfer win 10 and activate it onto the ssd.

    The laptop does not have an additional hdd option.
