  1. Rebooting SurfacePro1

hey everyone, I am having to reboot my surface pro first gen from a usb. It hit the bsod error code 0xc000021a. I was wondering if there would be any way to recover the windows key so I don't have to buy a new one. I have tried to get it into safe mode with no luck and am trying to fix this situation the best way I know how. I don't care about the files as I was trying to factory reset it when it hit the bsod.

Is there any way to recover or find that code? I threw out the box it came in years ago when I first got it so I dont have a physical copy of the code. Thanks

SurfacePro1 Reset - OS and Miscellaneous

I purchased a SurfacePro1 from MS approximately 22 months ago. I established separate user accounts in Windows10 Pro for my family to use the device. I believed I was the only user account admin priv. Last month my son some how deleted numerous applications
and system files on my surfacepro1. Edge and other programs remain listed on Start menu but do not launch - including Edge. IE is the only browser that I have access to. Regretfully, I never created a restore point (hindsight 20/20). Here's my question. Can
I reset the SurfacePro1 OS-build back to original out of the carton and start from scratch again? Thanks in advance.

  3. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update error on SurfacePro1

I thought I would try the Fall Creators Update.

I have 5 devices I have updated to Fall Creators Update, some easy some a struggle.

Newer Acer laptop I5 with ssd took 30 minutes from Windows update

Old Acer laptop 1 hour with Windows Update Assistant

Older HP Desktop 45 minutes with Windows Update Assistant

HP Stream Tablet 70 minutes with Windows Update.

However my SurfacePro1 tablet, usually no problems with updates failed part way through the install after reboot.

This was from Windows Update, Update Assistant and Media Creation Tool install from iso.

Did a Reset This PC in Recovery and tried Update Assistant and Media Creation Tool

So far its a no go.
