Windows 10: USB Problem At Start-Up/Reboot

Hi,


I'm hoping someone may be able to help as since I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I've had problems with my USB ports and devices not working at initial start-up and if the PC is restarted. The lights come on keyboard, mouse, network adapter etc until it reaches the welcome screen and they then go dark. Once my desktop loads none of them work.


Performing a hard shut down using the power button on the PC tower and then pressing it on again to turn the PC back on resolves the issue i.e. everything works as it should but currently this is the only solution I have to enable my PC to function as expected.


I never had problems with prior installations of Windows Vista or Windows 7.


I've looked online to try and find a solution but most solutions do not appear to be specific to my problem.


Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as it is becoming a bit annoying and frustrating.

reboot/freeze problem

my computer runs fine for about 20-30 minutes and then reboots/freezes(sometime it reboots, sometimes it freezes)
i have an evga 680i A1 board, 4x1gig xms2 dhx, q6600, 2x8800ultra's, 2x150gb raptors, pci-e wireless n card.

i have tried running the computer at stock speeds and voltages and have the same problem, so it's not an overclock issue.

it seems to be a software problem. but where do i start? the computer run @3.6ghz can run all night(9hours) orthos stable, but when im using it, it locks up every 20-30 minutes.

any suggestions?

I suggest you to run the Hardware Troubleshooter by following the steps provided below and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

• 
  Type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and sound”.
  
• 
  Under Hardware and sound, click on “hardware and devices”.
  
• 
  A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.
  

Method 2: Disable and re-enable all the
Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB) controllers.

The USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.

To disable and re-enable the USB controllers, follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X, Click on
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  

• 
  Right-click the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click
  Uninstall to remove it.
  
• 
  Repeat the above step for each USB controller that is listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  
• 
  Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.

• Disable your WiFi or unplug your network cable.
• Remove any USB device, keyboard, mouse, printer, USB drive, etc.
• Then, reboot your computer.
