  1. USB Gigabit Ethernet card disconnecting randomly

    Hello,

I have a Insignia Gigabit Ethernet adapter that is connected through USB 3.0 no hub. Very frequently my network adapter briefly disconnects accompanied by the windows device unplugged chime and immediately reconnects. I have already tried reinstalling the drivers for the NIC, tried a different USB port, and disabling power savings anywhere I could find it. I am now at my wit's end and cannot find any other option or setting that could cause the device to randomly turn off and on again.

The connection loss is very brief; short enough that most games can recover from it but long enough that streaming audio has issues every few minutes. between 5 and 20 minutes between disconnects.

Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone found a fix?

    Thanks in advance

    :)

  2. Ethernet Connection Disconnects Randomly

I'm using a wired connection to my laptop and it disconnects randomly from about every 30 minutes to every 2 hours. I've already tested with different ethernet cables so that isn't the problem.

My computer is on Windows 10 and using the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

I've already tried updating the driver to the newest one on the Realtek website, and reverting to old ones. I have also tried disabling Green Ethernet, Energy Efficient Ethernet, changing the setting of Auto-disable Gigabit, and unchecking "turn off this
    device to save power"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    usb ethernet card

I didnt know they made usb ethernet cards, cant say I have ever tried one, but your going to be limited by the usb port speed so dont be expecting gigabit
