Windows 10: [PSA] Optional update KB4541335 introduces BSOD on boot.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but refrain from installing the update no matter what.

Updated last night and got an "inaccessible boot drive" error. Windows Recovery couldn't uninstall the update and recovery points did not work. Had to do a fresh install.

In my fresh install, with a new image, the update still shows as available. Just avoid it.

Good day,

Having an issue with the KB4541335 update.

Windows update gives message "we couldn't install this update but you can try again (0x800f0831).

After several attempts it still does not install.

I have also tried to download and manually install the .msu file.

It will give result "did not install the update KB4541335"

I also noticed the last days I have to validate Windows 10 frequently with the troubleshooter.

It seems to "unvalidate" my Windows account.

Hi Elda,

If the boot sequence didn't work, then we suggest try running the laptop in safe mode. To do this, here's a few steps to follow:

• Power down your laptop.
• Turn it back on again.
• When you turn it back on, press F8 repeatedly until the power on option appeared.
  
• If you see the boot option "Safe Mode with Networking", choose that option.
• See if you can boot up in Safe mode.
