    Cannot Drag And Drop From Firefox


    Hello all,

    This question involves Windows Server 2016. I post on this forum because of its similarities with Windows 10. Hopefully there is a similar fix.

    The issue is I am not able to drag content from Firefox and drop it onto my desktop or any other application. I tried the solutions on this link:

    But the solutions there did not work..

    Drag and Drop

    Hi Charles,

    the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

    In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

    Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

    My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.

    Cannot Drag and Drop into Edge

    • I have been on Win 10 and Edge since June 2016.
    • I was able to drag and drop files in a SP2013 document library until today.
    • I tried it with OneDrive with the same result. I can no longer drag and drop to upload files.

    Repeat: Drag and drop worked in my SharePoint 2013 libraries and OneDrive until today.

    Was there a recent Win 10 or Edge update that may have broken drag and drop?

    Cannot Drag And Drop From Firefox

    firefox drag and drop image to file explorer

    Since Firefox v68 the drag and dropping of an image from the browser (firefox.exe) to Windows File Explorer or Desktop (explorer.exe) is not working anymore.

    • Tried turning it off and on again didn't work
    • Started firefox in safemode with no add-ons didn't work
    • Started windows in safe mode and then started firefox in safemode with no add-ons didn't work
    • Drag n Drop + holding Ctrl key didn't work Drag n Drop + holding Alt key didn't work
    • Created a new profile didn't work
    • Re-installed v68 didn't work
    • uninstalled and erased ALL firefox files, then installed v68 didn't work
    • Installed v68 on a fresh install of Windows didn't work
    • Installed a fresh copy of Windows on a freshly assembled computer and made a fresh installation of v68 Firefox didn't work
    • Reverting to Firefox v67 did work !!

    So after investigation it must be an issue with the Firefox 68 update.
