  1. WUDFHost causing large usage in CPU

Hey! I've searched and searched through multiple posts online about possible causes and our fixes but none seem to work. Currently trying to use a usb-hdmi adapter for display and gaming purposes but for some reason when it is plugged in WUDFHost begins to utilize a lot of the CPU. When the adapter is not plugged in i reach about 110-120 fps when gaming, however when I use the adapter my fps is more then halved (40-50 fps) and the CPU starts to get bogged down by WUDFHost. If anyone's experienced this problem or knows a solution the help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have

    1) Updated all drivers

    2) re-installed Windows 10

My computer also has a usb-c port and i ran a usbc-hdmi adapter for months on end with no issues.

  2. WIN10 1703 update cause Explorer.exe high CPU usage

    Hi,

Glad you reached out. First, we would like to know if Explorer.exe
is the only cause of high CPU usage. Because the common cause of high CPU usage are the following:

    - Windows 10 Memory leak after the update.

    - Driver incompatibilities after the update.

    - Multiple startup applications

We'll be waiting for your update.

WIN10 1703 update cause Explorer.exe high CPU usage

    I am using Surface Pro 3 (i5, 8G RAM)

After WIN10 v1703 update, Windows Explorer uses ~30-40% CPU.

If I uncheck "Show thumbnails instead of icons" in the Performance Options, the CPU usage of Windows Explorer reduces to ~0%

Any suggestion why showing thumbnails cause so high CPU usage in v1703?

    Thanks!

  4. WUDFHost causing large usage in CPU

    Random CPU usage spikes

    Hello,

User profile corruption can cause high CPU usage as it
opens programs that are not necessary on the background
. To troubleshoot the issue, we suggest
creating a new user account on your computer to see if the same issue will occur on a different user profile. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

    • Select the Start button, then select Settings > Accounts > Family
      & other people
      > Add someone else to this PC.

    • Type a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

Should you have further questions, please let us know.
