Windows 10: my minecraft windows 10 wont update

Hi. I've got the Microsoft Store version of Minecraft for Windows 10 and i can play it but it is an outdated version and so i cant play with friends. i try to update it but...


In the Microsoft store, I select My library -> Minecraft for Windows 10 -> Update


It goes through the expected process, but after it says "Complete" the progress bar scrolls back to the beginning at it attempts to download the update again. This process just keeps repeating.


the download gets to 1.52 MB, then says "Installing Minecraft for Windows 10" then after completed, it rolls back and does it again.


I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game in desperation, but still get the same problem.

I noted that previously it would sometimes update while the game was loading, but it is not doing that either.


Help please!

new laptop minecraft wont load

Bought a new laptop, windows 10. cant access the xbox app and minecraft is already installed but it wont open, any help or suggestions appreciated. thanks

I suggest you to check the compatibility from the below:

As the game is not compatible then you need to install the game in compatibility mode and check for the issue to do that you need to follow the steps provided below.

• Locate the installer.exe or setup.exe file in your folder.
• Right-click on the file.
• From the contextual menu, choose Properties.
• Under Compatibility tab. Choose the version of Windows you want to emulate.
• Select the "Run this program in compatibility mode" checkbox. Run the installer

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server
