  1. GPU spike while on AC

Hello everyone, from the past few months I have been facing this problem on my Dell Laptop having Intel UHD 620 GPU. Whenever I have my laptop plugged into AC and I perform any GPU intensive task like gaming or playing video using madVR, the GPU spikes up to 100% for complete 4-5 clock cycles and then settles down for a minute and the process repeats. But when on 100% if I unplug the charger, then the GPU usage gets back to normal and doesn't stutter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. StartMenuExperienceHost.exe causing GPU Usage Spike

Okay so as the title says I have a problem. It would be a completely unnoticeable issue had I not been a gamer. The problem is my GPU is getting a usage spike and through Process Explorer I have tracked the spike down to StartMenuExperienceHost.exe. When
my GPU spikes this is the program that popus up for GPU usage.

The spike is tiny and lasts about a second in length. It takes my framerate of 75 and drops it to 35-40 then it bounces back to normal.

I've spent the past week trying to fix the issue. I've messed with my grapics card settings, Windows settings, in game settings, I've tried under and overclocking my GPU. I've tried everything. Nothing has helped the issue. I even thought I'd have to RMA
my card but I don't think it's the card having the issue. I'm fairly certain that if I could kill the start menu until I open it up again that the problem would be solved.

    My rig:

    Asrock Phantom Gaming X RX 570 8gb

    G.Skill Trident RGB 16GB DDR4 3600

    MSI B450 Gaming Plus Motherboard

    Corsair CX550 PSU

    Patroit Scorch M.2 128gb SSD

Seagate Barracuda 2tb 7200 rpm HDD

csrss.exe periodic GPU spike when running certain apps

    Thanks for the feedback.

Unfortunately, I've tried these steps and they made no difference at all, the process still spikes the GPU use on the same timing. This isn't a GPU problem in the first place, it's an interaction issue between CSP and csrss.exe. The difficult part is figuring
out WHY that interaction issue happens. The GPU part is just a byproduct of that issue.

A year old hotfix doesn't really make sense in this regard, since I'm already on the newest drivers and this hotfix would've been baked into them ages ago. I'm also not sure what Minecraft has to do with any of this. But just to check, I went ahead and launched
it, and it does -not- have the same problem, so it's not a Java-based issue.

Massive FPS Lag And GPU Spikes

I've recently noticed that when running games like Minecraft and League of Legends, the FPS stutters and drops suddenly. This problem only started a few weeks ago - before that it ran fine. I usually average around 90FPS in Minecraft and 70FPS in League, but during the spikes it drops to 5-10FPS. The spikes used to only occur every few seconds and went away after a while, but now they're frequent and make trying to play near impossible.

I opened up Task Manager when running Minecraft, and the GPU constantly spikes from around 30% to up to 90%, causing the drops. Most of the GPU usage is from Java running, and the spikes are from it as well. Running on Windows 10, I already have Optifine installed on Minecraft. The problem only occurs in fullscreen.

    Things I've already tried:

    • Uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers
    • Cleaned out junk files
    • Uninstall and reinstall games
    • Close background programs, end tasks in Task Manager
    • Ran multiple antivirus scans using AVG, MalwareBytes and Adaware(no problems found)
