Windows 10: multple updates daily make PC hard to use

I just bought a new Dell Desktop PC running Windows 10 Pro version1909, OS Build 18363.836. I use my desktop for many work related type tasks, including email, word processing, Worksheets, etc, but one of the things I use it for most is watching movies and TV shows. I don't have TV, so my PC is my access to entertainment. I have always done well with that and I have been using Windows 10 Pro since the Beta testing but I have never had the issue with updates and reboots that I have on this new Dell machine.

It seems that every time I try to watch ANYTHING on my computer normally about an hour a night it will reboot once or twice in the middle. I literally just had it reboot twice today during one 20 minute show and it had already rebooted during another show earlier int he day!!!!

I have tried every single thing I can find online to prevent this and nothing seems to be working.


So, Microsoft and/or the Microsoft community, tell me what we can do to prevent this darn machine from rebooting multiple times every evening during my entertainment.

Need Serious Help: How To Record Video of What is Done on my PC?

I suggest the following simple steps:

1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.
