programs, browers close and/or minimize on their own

I have a new HP laptop and for the past month, my browser will close on its own and Word will minimize on its own. How do I stop this? Also, since the last update, when I'm using Windows Settings, and I click on a topic, it goes automatically to Bing and there is no way to uninstall that browser. Thank you.

    :)

  2. Programs closing when clicking on Minimize

When I click minimize no error appears it just closes like when I press the X button.

I did research and nothing came up about it so no I have not done any troubleshooting steps.

  3. Programs closing when clicking on Minimize

When I want to minimize the program to the taskbar for some reason it closes and I need to reopen and has not minimized to system tray the problem started a few days ago when Windows updated on its own programs (so far) that have closed:

    VMWare Workstation 12 Pro

    Visual Studio 2017,2015

    Visual Basic 2008,2010

    PageNest (Website Copier)

    GameJolt Client

    Last.fm scrobbler

    Notepad ++

and more System apps like Settings does not close

    Screen minimizing on its own

    Hi Debra,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

To have a better clarity on the issue and guide you accordingly, respond to the questions listed below.

    1. Since when are you facing this issue?
    2. Do all programs minimize on their own?

Meanwhile disable ‘Tablet Mode’ if enabled and check.

Tablet Mode works like a bridge between PC and touch-enabled devices such as tablets. When it is enabled, all modern apps open in full screen mode and sometimes the main program window is automatically minimized when a sub-window is opened.

    Disable Tablet Mode:

    1. Click on ‘Action Center’ icon at the lower right corner of the taskbar.
    2. Locate ‘Tablet Mode’ tile and disable it if enabled already.

    Regards,
