Windows 10: Sound going through hdmi to monitor when it should be through speaker

Hi all

So i brought a new case which turned up yesterday as i had overheating issues of late which is now fixed but felt it was time to upgrade the case for future expansions.
So after some weird technical problems with the computer in its new caseshutting down and things not working and rectifying a few mistakes created by my friend who helped me piece the system together in it's new home - like HDD case light cable being placed on wrong pins on the MoBo whilst correcting the last issue or two of the front usb ports not working and the before mentioned misplacement of the cable for the case HDD light which involved having to drop the 2nd GPU and then disconnecting all the USB cables from the board and the High Def Audio cable for the front jacks on the case which were all then connected and ensured everything was right i've turned the computer on and found the only thing that i can get sound through is the Hanns G moniter which is connected to the GTX 1060 via DVI-D or E connector right this moment i forget which type it is i know it has both i've tried setting speaker as the default in audio devices as it was originally but i still hear nothing through the speakers connected to the back of the case or the headphones at the front of the case there is sound playing on speaker as i can see it in volume mixer and nothing is muted or anything but i can not hear it.

I can't think where i'm going wrong but have fixed this sort of issue in the past but i am not getting anywhere this time round i've tried google searches but still no progress, so now i'm asking you wonderful people.

How on earth do i change the audio from that damn HDMI jack back to the 3.5 audio jacks

Sound not working through monitor speakers through displayport or hdmi

Hi,

I am trying to get sound through monitor speakers working.

I have an NVidia 950 with two monitors - one using displayport and one using hdmi.

The speakers are working when connected from a different laptop.

Sound through headphones work when headphones plugged in.

PC is using Windows 10,

What could be the issue here?

no sound plays through internal speakers

I cannot get any sound to play through the internal speakers of my laptop. It did play previously. The speaker in the task bar has a red and white x and the trouble shooter says no speakers headphones plugged in. When I pull up the info on sound it lists
its location at HDMI port. Suggestions?

 

No sound when using TV as monitor through HDMI cable

I've been hooking up my laptop to my TV through a HDMI cable for a while, with no issue. Suddenly I get no sound from tv speakers. When I go to the control panel,the only sound device listed is the one for the laptop speakers, even when I have checked
'show disabled devices' and 'show disconnected devices'. How do I fix? I use Windows 10.
