Windows 10: Apple TV home share iTunes wth Windows 10 does not appear to be working

Hi all


I hope this finds the correct audience. I have Apple TV and use a PC with Windows as my OS of choice.


I would like to watch videos and movies I have on my PC, generally home movies and things I have made with Premiere, on my Apple TV


All the internet says set up home sharing in iTunes and Apple TV, follow the steps and good to go.


I beg to differ. I cannot get this to work no matter how many hoops I have to jump through, and Apple support is no support at all.


I have made firewall exceptions, I have enabled and disabled protocols per "how to" articles


I DO have the latest of all software Windows, iTunes, Apple TV and nothing seems to work. I am not convinced this is a network issue, since the shared library does not appear in the iTunes drop-down menu, or the sidebar that ALL the "how to" articles say will appear in. When I go to Computers on my Apple TV, it just says "no libraries available" then tells me to make sure same account and same wifi is used by all devices, which it is.


Has anyone successfully gotten Apple TV to play nice with a Windows machine? Is it possible that home sharing is not available in all regions?

iTunes Sync Issues with Apple TV

My iTunes has not synced through apple tv since I downloaded windows 10. I have worked with apple support without success. ITunes on my pc says I am sharing with the apple tv and apple tv says the same but none of my data shows up. Please advise.

Apple TV no longer recognizes my shared folders


I went through sharing tutorial and changed the share settings as they suggested. Now the network shares show as an available item, but Apple TV still doesn't recognize it. It was able to recognize the drive and movies with Windows 7 and when 10 was just installed. It appears one of the updates changed something. Ideas?
