Windows 10: MSI GForce 2080 RTX Super compatibility with Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0...

Motherboard: MSI Z170-A Pro (MS-7971), apparently it only does 4 cores max, so that's what I'm dealing with.

When I built my rig, I made very sure that when the time came, I could just switch in another video card for the one that died. No PSU issues, 750W gold Corsair. 32G of RAM if that would even matter. Just did a 3d mark test on the machine and scored a 34%. Apparently, just above an office computer in their opinion. All my drivers are up to date, everything seems to be running...

Intel - Core i7-9700K motherboard compatibility

Hi all, looking to upgrade my build to an Intel - Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor but basically every motherboard I plop into pcpartpicker seems to give me this error

• Some Intel B360/H310/Z370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Not really sure what to do or what motherboard to choose. I don't really want to spend a lot of money or do anything fancy, just something that works with my CPU is all I need. Even when I pick motherboards that pcpartpicker says are compatible, I get this message. I'm scared of buying the wrong one and destroying my parts lol. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
