Windows 10: Stability Issues With 5G WiFi

I've been having recent issues with connectivity with my PC. New PC, new WiFi 6 adapter only about 4 months, but only the past week have I had this issue.


I've been connected since I built this PC to my 5G WiFi faster download/upload, better connection in games, and the recent issue has been the network will randomly stop working. When I go to my network connections, it shows up so it's not an issue with the cable for the adapter, but when I attempt to connect, it says "can't connect". Either, I have to wait a LONG time, restart my router and wait forever, or restart my PC to temporarily fix the issue, as it re-occurs within 30 minutes or so. I don't have any other technology besides my setup that would interfere with signal as I've said before, NEVER had these issues. When the 5G doesn't work, it automatically sets to the regular connection, which allows me to do whatever I was doing, but at worse download/upload speeds. Ping in games doesn't change, the internet connection itself is good. Multiple people have phones connected to the network and have no issues, my landlord has a PC connected as well and has no issues, it seems that only I have this issue. I've been cursed, I swear, as I had connection issues before with a previous PC but it was a **** adapter I had with my previous PC, this one is a higher-end adapter. I've tried resetting my PC/router/updating drivers for the adapter/PC, attempted other settings in my router itself online, tried moving my PC to see if there was interference based on positioning, nothing seems to help. Tried clearing my network cache with a dnsflush. Again, when the internet works, it's phenomenal speeds 500-800 down through a speedtest. I've even made sure that the box is ticked on my network adapter that stops my PC from turning off my WiFi to save power. But my PC is the only thing having issues randomly, my phone doesn't have the issues. Any ideas?

Windows 10 5G nbn wifi not showing up

There is a possibility that the wireless network adapter of your computer is not compatible with the 5G Wi-Fi network. Just to clarify, can your computer connect to other 5G networks?

For us to verify if your computer is compatible with the 5G Wi-Fi network, kindly provide the name of the wireless network card. To determine the device's name, follow these steps:

• Right-click the Windows logo, and then choose Device Manager.
• Expand Network.
• Locate the computer's wireless network card.

5g wifi disappeared

hi,

I upgraded my modem 6 months ago and I was able to see and connect to the 5g wifi connection. when I moved residences, I can no longer see or connect to 5g. my laptop did previously connect to 5g and I did check my drivers but I still can't see or connect
to the 5g.

 

Laptop only connects to 5g not regular WIFI

My computer will only connect to 5g wifi not any other wifi. It shows the other wifi connections but will not connect. I know it is not the modem because other laptops will connect to the non 5g wifi and works fine. When I connect to 5g it works but frequently
disconnects and reconnects. This is not a huge problem at home since I have 5g but I got the Lenovo Yoga to use for work and we do not have 5g wifi there.
