Well - it has come to this. I throw myself at the mercy of the smarter masses.

Here is the situation in as best I can describe it. Understanding that I do not know how certificates work and I am not a OS Guru - just a plain user who is now stuck like deer in headlights.

I have an application called iLok from a company called Pace. It allows licenses to be transferred to a specialized USB dongle that then allows me to run specialized software installed on my computer for audio processing.

This ilok application goes to the ilok website to refresh licenses so I can use them. About May 20 of this year is started telling me it could not connect to the server. Never seen that before. Multiple email and escalations I am told by Pace that my SSL Certificate is a problem and that is for Microsoft to assist with. Apparently the certificate died on may 30 of this year. I have no idea how to upgrade the cert or how to do it. I am familiar with the Cert manager and can see the few that have expired on that day. Now interestingly the provider has a page that said they have a fix - but i will be darned if I know what they are actually telling me to do.

Here are the certs on my system that seem to be the offending ones:

So that is my sad story. Regular user of computers whos ship has thrown onto the rocks of technical uncertainty and forced into a never ending rabbit hole of despair. Because of this issue - I cannot use licenses that drive much of my audio processing.

    have pity ... and thanks....

    :)

  2. SSL Certificate

The SSL certificate date that was received from the server indicates that the certificate has expired.( In Theory). How to I access this SSL Cert to correct the problem?? I'm lost!!

  3. WP7 Outlook Accessing Exchange with Expired SSL Certificate

    Hi,

We had a problem with an expired SSL certificate and installation of a new one and right now when you access Outlook via the Outlook client or Outlook Web Access you get the warning about an expired certificate but can proceed to open the application and
access email. However, on my Windows Phone 7 I am not given that option and keep getting sync errors with error code 80072F05. Our SSL issue has actually been escallated to advanced support at Microsoft but we do not have an estimated ETA for the fix. Not
having email on my phone is killing me.

Other users in the organization using iPhone or Android have been able to tell their email client to just accept the expired certificate. Is there any way I can do the same? I have seen other posts about a self-signed certificate but that will not work
(as you have to turn off other certificates I am told).

    Thanks,

    Alan

Application using expired SSL Certificate on my computer...

Windows mobile use expired root certificate

A windows mobile content a expired root certificate and a current root certificate of same CA. When the device tries to sync with exchange server, it complaints certificate is expired. The SSL certificate of exchange server is issued by current root certificate.
Is this normal? Does anyone have this experience? There is no problem when using IE through OWA.

    Thanks.
