  1. *SOLUTION* how to switch between a headset and speaker without unplugging one device.

I had an issue where “Speakers Real High Definition Audio represented both my headset and my speakers. It was super frustrating because I had to always unplug my headset when I wanted to enjoy some music on my speakers.

its an easy fix, just click the “^” arrow on the bottom right on ur taskbar which should bring up all “hidden icons” in which you should hover over the bronze sound icon titled “Realtek HD Audio Manager” and double click

Next, with the audio manager open, click the “Device Advanced Settings” at the top right of the page then click “Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously” under the “Playback device” tab.

Now you should have speakers and whatever else audio device you have, mine is titled “HD Audio 2nd Output”

Super easy transition between both sound systems should be accessible now!

    :)

Switch back to speakers not working after unplugging my headset

    Hello,

Can someone explain me how is this still possible with a recent OS (Windows 10)?

    Issue:

Step 1: I plug my heasdset -> the sound is switched correctly from the speakers to my headset.

Step 2: I set my computer to sleep mode.

Step 3: I unplug my headset.

Step 4: I wake up my computer. (my headset is not plugged anymore)

    Result:

I have no more sound without headset, the sound output is stuck to the jack plug.

Apparently, Windows 10 doesn't check the status of the different I/Os when getting out of sleep mode. (I hope there is another reason, but if this is the case, it is a shame)

So, how do I get my speakers working again, without restarting my computer, please?

    Thanks for your help.

  3. Windows 10 - Headset and speakers show as one sound device (have to unplug headset)?

Just finished installing Windows 10, and the only issue that I'm encountering pertains to my audio. I have a USB headset and also have USB speakers.

Before, I could leave both of them plugged in and just change the devices in the "Playback" tab from the sound window. However, this "Playback" tab only shows one device right now -- Speakers. So now, I can only hear through my USB speakers if my headset is unplugged, and vice versa. I also have "Show disabled devices" and "Show disconnected devices" enabled.

Any idea how to fix this and put this back on track?

*SOLUTION* how to switch between a headset and speaker without unplugging one device.

Win 10 not switching between speaker and headset automatically

Recently, after a win patch this problem occured. When I boot the computer it recognizes any sound output device (headset or speaker if plugged in, default laptop speaker if nothing is plugged in) and sticks with it until restart. So if it booted with
a plugged in speaker, then if I unplug it, there is no sound at all, and I can't fix it without rebooting or reconnecting said speaker. And vice versa: if it booted without anything then it sticks with the default speaker. How can I fix this problem?
