  1. broken .exe filetype association

I can't open any .exe programs. I've looked around in the forums and the solution seems to be to fix the registry keys, however I can't open regedit. I also can't open command prompt or task manager.

Another solution was to tweak the registry without opening regedit either by downloading or creating a .reg file, right clicking on it and clicking merge but that either succeeded but didn't solve the problem or produced an error saying the not all the key could be modified.

I tried to system refresh but if I try to open the system restore or command prompt applications from the shift-click restart screen, the computer crashes and I have to hard restart it.

if I create a new user account, everything works fine. I can open regedit, does anyone know of a way to fix the relevant keys from another user account?

if not does anyone know of another solution short of a full system reinstall?

I would be very grateful for any help.

    :)

    N95 Filetype association?

    Hello everyone,

I'm having N95 V11.2.009 and got one question for you. How can i associate file types in N95?

For example, i have few .avi and .flv files on my N95 memory card and i would like associate .avi with Smartmovie player and .flv with emTube so that if i select any of these filetypes in File Manager then they directly open with their associated programs and
not throw the error "Unable to open. File type not supported".

    Thanks & Regards,

    Vasu

    broken .exe filetype association

Unable to change default app by protocol or filetype.

Hi, I don't have Acrobat installed. With Sumatra as my default pdf reader, that hyperlink to a pdf docoument opens in.. yes.. Sumatra. Changing to Edge:

    broken .exe filetype association [IMG]

the hyperlink opens in... yes.. Edge.

If, as seems the case, Bluebeam is correctly associated with pdf files, I can't say why the hyperlink fails. Your guess about the protocol may be right- I don't know. If you could make any change to that to test that theory, as you suggest, that would help.

If you wish to view the relevant registry key, a convenient way to get there is via free Filetypesman - a rt click option.
