Windows 10: error message "explorer.exe exception illegal instruction 0X00007PFCE" please help

"explorer.exe exception illegal instruction 0X00007PFCE" please help. desktop blacks out every few seconds, takes time to reload. Cannot access control panel and other basic navigation tools. Typing point relocates every time screen blacks out -- like now! Can access and work in Google and Office 365

Illegal instruction error on starting the laptop

This doesn't happen all the time, normally after my PC has been running for a while. This error occurs when I start my PC.

The exception illegal instruction

An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.

(0xc000001d) occured in the application at location 0xfb592e9.

Click on OK to terminate the program.

Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

All my relevant PC specs:

• Windows 10 Home
• Intel(R) Core i7-6500U CPU @2.50GHz
• 8GB RAM

To better understand and help you to resolve the issue please let us know:

Did you make any software or hardware changes recently?

As a work around I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

• 
  Right click on the taskbar and select task manager.
  
• 
  Select explorer.exe from process and right click and end the task
  
• 
  Go to the file option on the task manager and select Run New task and type explorer.exe and ok.
  

If issue still persists, I suggest you to check the issue occurs in safe mode:

Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. It can help you troubleshoot problems on your PC. For example, if the problem doesn't happen in safe mode, you'll know default settings and
basic device drivers aren't causing the issue.

^ what they said will both work. i suggest updating directX, and in the future please try and list the exact error message... and i want a muffin.
