Windows 10: Error: "chkdsk $130 is incorrect"

    Error: "chkdsk $130 is incorrect"


    Hi....


    So my disk was running at 100% in the task manager and i ran a health scan on drive c: by going to "this pc" right clicking on drive C "properties" "tools" "check" "scan drive" but this didn't work and i went for the chkdsk option.

    By running the cmd prompt with administrator access and then "chkdsk c:" I'm getting this error index $130 is incorrect, also i tried for going with chkdsk c: /f /r /x it failed over there and the error still continues.

    Can anyone help me resolving both chkdsk and disk 100% errors....

    Hi,

    The error "This Parameter is incorrect" usually happens because of a system or disk errors. To isolate this issue, we suggest running CHKDSK using the command prompt. Running CHKDSK
    can check the integrity of a hard disk and can repair various file system errors. To run CHKDSK follow these steps:

    • Plug in external hard drive, USB drive or memory card to the computer.
    • Press Windows Key + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • In the Command Prompt window, type chkdsk E: /f /r. You should replace E with the drive letter of your external hard drive or external device.
    • Restart your PC once the process is done.

    No this did not resolve my issue.

    I have a SanDisk SSD 894.25 Gb, 786.96 gb free with Trims enabled. ran as admin chkdsk c: /f /r with no error found no change in the problem

    chkdsk c: /F

    It might be an error on the drive. We suggests that you follow the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Run Disk Cleanup utility to clear your junk files.
    • Open an elevated CMD type sfc /scannow and hit Enter to run the System File Checker.
    • Once the scan is completed, restart your computer. Remember to exit ChkDsk
      during boot.
    • Next, again open CMD as admin type
      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth       and hit Enter to repair the Windows image.
    • Now see if ChkDsk able to complete the scan.

    Note: Before doing the steps, make sure you save a back up of your files.
