Windows 10: Losing Internet connectivity whenever a new windows update is due

Here is my problem.

I have a very recent and poweful PC with 32 Go Ram and a Ryzen 9 processor and Windows 10, absolutely no warez. I checked for viruses and malwares and it's clean.

I am connected directly to my modem VDSL box with an ethernet cable, the box delivers good connectivity to the other devices in my house.

Every time there is a new upcoming windows update I lose most of my connectivity. Pages like Gmail keep saying that I'm disconnected, I can't complete a file upload in my accounting SAAS. Most of my Facebook comment can't complete. It sort of feels like the DNS working on and off. I've tried various browsers, Brave, Vivaldi, Chrome, Edge. aLso some software will freeze, which they don't usually do.

Most of the time it's bearable because this only happens during the time it takes windows to complete the update. I usually force the update and that's it.

With the 2004 version of windows 10 it's a big problem because windows update says it's not going to update my PC right away so I'm stuck without connectivity.

I checked the option to disable windows update for 7 days and I'm back with a working PC. My plan is to periodically check if the new update is available for me and if not, disable updates for another 7 days.

Is there a better way to handle that ?
If it lingers too long I might just block the updates and forget to turn them on.
