Windows 10: Exiting Safe Mode Without Password

Hello,


My girlfriend was having issues with her laptop and while trying to fix it, she got stuck in safe mode. Unfortunately she does not know the password, nor does she have an installation disk or drive. We have tried accessing command prompt, restoring the system to an earlier point and resetting. All options require a password which we do not have and thus we are stuck. Her laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port, another computer is not available either, along with any hard drives. She decided that if a reset is necessary, she will do it, however that too, requires a password when using either method.


I have read posts like this but have been solved using methods not available to us. Is she stuck in safe mode indefinitely until she can get a recovery drive, or until she can figure out the password? Or is there a method that doesn't require a password that we just haven't discovered yet?

Please try this

To revert to normal mode from safe, I suggest that you follow the steps below

1. Tab Win+R and in the dialog box enter msconfig.

2. Locate and select the Boot tab and uncheck Safe with the option that you have selected

3. Restart the computer and check.

If you are able to come out of Safe Mode, try entering your password and check if you are able to access your Desktop

Can’t exit safe mode without admin password

I booted safe mode on my windows 10 laptop, not knowing that I needed the admin password, which I don’t know.

I also don’t have an installation disk i can boot from.

Now I can’t login to my laptop without the admin password, is there any way to boot safe mode without using a password or installation disk?

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
• Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
• What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.
