Windows 10: PC audio is transmitting over voice chat but its not the hardware Mic thats picking it up

My PC has been transmitting all sounds I hearyoutube music, game audio etc into voice chat apps TeamSpeak, discord, mumble, in-game chats.

However, I tested my Physical Mic and it does not pick up my PC sounds at all.


I believe it is the HD audio controller that is sending my PC audio into the voice chat together with my mic. Most likely a software issue rather than hardware.


I have Confirmed all settings are correct for the inputs and outputs.

I have tested this on both 3.5mm jack headphones and USB headphones.

I have used both normal Drivers and Realtek Drivers.

I have tried setting my mic input volume to 0 but it still transmits audio.


But I am still unable to stop it from sending my PC audio into VC.


eg.

if I have youtube music playing and I activate my push to talk on discord...my friends can hear both my voice and the youtube music.

mic not picking up my voice

oh boy

ok so im on windows 10 and im having issues with my microphone now. so my built-in laptop mic is not working atm. every time i try to record my voice, all i hear is static or light
faint taps. it isnt picking up my voice but its picking up output audio. i tried updating the drives, tried setting up a mic, but when testing it, it wont pick up anything. and went to audio drives (see below):





but nothing is working at all. i checked if the device was disabled but its not. i havent had this problom before btw.

if ANYONE can help me its appreciated!!

Remove voice chat echo without needing headphones

Most voice chat software has some sort of acoustic cancellation squirreled away in the settings (not sure about Discord, they're a little new on the block). However, a few practical tips if those don't do the trick:

1. USE PUSH TO TALK MODE. Bind you input key to something you don't use often (shift key in my case), so the mic is only active when it is pushed and not when others are transmitting.
   
2. If in an enclosed area, try to point the audio output into the open area, and not at a wall (sound reflection)
   
3. Some laptops come with both an array microphone, and a unidirectional microphone. In most cases, the unidirectional mic is better for that purpose.
   
4. Reduce the volume of the output on your speakers so the microphone doesn't pick it up as well.
