Hi, if you don't wish to use Windows built-in indexed content search, you could try these indexing programs:

DocFetcher - Fast Document Search
(free)

and consider e.g. Copernic, a full-featured professional program.

Some free 3rd party fast search tools that do NOT index content do add on a file content search feature, although this is of limited value is it may not be able to access typical office document types. (I.e. typically text-based only) and so be of limited use.

NirSoft's SearchMyFiles searches for content. It does not use an index.
- It can find content in text-based files.
- It can also find content in Word files [docx, docm] & Excel files [xlsx, xlsm]
