Windows 10: [W10 Home] How to turn off automatic downloads (at least in the background). I wouldn't...

I've noticed that every so often my CPU runs very high (80C) when I'm using it as I would normally. The CPU temperature will then drop and as soon as it does I receive a 'your device needs to restart to install updates' notification.

Instead of background downloads I would prefer to do it manually to avoid these temperature spikes.

Currently in the settings I cannot see how to set it to manual updates only. I swear that used to be an option. It appears now I can only pause automatic updates it for a period of time. I will end up forgetting though and then I'm stuck with high CPU temps again.

Does anyone know the options I should be looking at?

I just read an article in the new Linux magazine on the use of Ramdisks. Using those as a file system can drastically speed up read and write performance. That would be a cool feature to build in the OS of mobile phones that hold a memory card anyway, wouldn´t
it. Then saving a large Excel sheet wouldn´t take ages as it does now (on my E61 anyway), but just a few seconds...

Store Settings "Update apps automatically" won`t stay switched off. WHY?

The possible reason why Update apps automatically turn back on is that the Store app is running in the background. We suggest that you turn off the Store app. This way, it won't receive any updates or send notifications unless opened or turned on
manually.

To turn off Store app, follow these steps:

• Click the Windows logo, then go to Settings.
• Click Privacy, then Background apps.
  
• On the list, locate Store and toggle it off.
