Windows 10: New Microsoft edge update KB4559309 issues with display, camera and microphone

Since The Microsoft edge update on August 10th, my laptop display 1 has greyed out I am working connected to an external monitor. I can't find my camera or the microphone.


I tried all the suggestions here and had no success

Most importantly, I'm unable to restore to a point where things were working or uninstall the Microsoft edge update that's causing all these issues!

KB4559309 Update for new Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 - May 27

UPDATE 6/2:

• KB4541302 - New Microsoft Edge is available for Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909
• KB4541301 - The new Microsoft Edge is available for Windows 10 version 1803 and 1809

Microsoft has started rolling out a new KB4559309 Microsoft Edge Update for Windows 10 version 2004 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring.

This update replaces the old Microsoft Edge with the new Chromium base Microsoft Edge.

This update will not be available if you have already installed the new Microsoft Edge (stable).

Camera and Microphone Privacy

This issue occurs due to permission issue, driver issue, license for an app is out of sync with the license installed on the computer or if the app is not updated. To give permission to Camera and Microphone app, you may follow
these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Privacy.
• Look for Camera, make sure that “Let apps use my camera” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your camera as well.
• Go back to Privacy and select Microphone, make sure that “Let apps use my microphone” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your microphone as well.

This issue is might be related to display drivers.

I suggest you to update your display adapter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R key on the keyboard.
  
• 
  Type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
  
• 
  Expand the Display adapter.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select Update driver software.
