Windows 10: Transferring windows 10 digital license from one email to another

Hello there,


I previously bought a digital Windows 10 pro license key from the Microsoft store with a previous outlook email account. This license is for my Windows 10 running on my MacBook Pro Boot Camp.

However, I’ve decided to move on to a new MacBook alongside a new outlook email account for a new environment. If possible, I’d like to transfer the Windows 10 pro license that is linked to my old email, to my new email address.

With that, I can finally delete my old outlook account and be happy knowing that I will have my product key safely stored with my new email account, without the worries of loosing the product key linked to my previous email that I will be deleting soon.

Transferring Windows 10 to another computer Digital License

Transferring a digital license to a new computer will depend on the type of Windows 10 license you have installed on your computer.

To address you're issue, we suggest that you follow the steps shared by
Andre Da Costa on this thread about transferring Windows
10 to another computer.

Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.

Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.
